Basketball players’ style — largely in the men’s league, but increasingly the women’s too — has become a bonafide pillar in fashion media and consumption. Basketball players’ style has more eyes on it than any other sport, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Mitchell S. Jackson told CNN. “(The league) was the first to embrace it,” Jackson, author of the recently released photobook “Fly: The Big Book of Basketball Fashion,” explained. “Basketball players are so much a part of American culture. Bettman/Getty Images/Courtesy Workman“We talk a lot about current NBA tunnel style, but the league has been America’s most stylish for decades,” Schube continued.

Here's a new trend to learn for your next cocktail party: Bookshelf wealth. Bookshelf wealth — an interior design trend profiled in House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens, and now The New York Times — rejects a perfectly staged, hyper-curated room in favor of a look that's a little more messy and quirky. Advertisement"What separates this from other interior design styles is that these homes look cozy and lived in," says interior design creator Kailee Blalock in a TikTok video posted by @houseofhive. A particular interior design aesthetic that can only be achieved through not trying too hard and displaying items that are meaningful might sound a bit oxymoronic. The newest variant of "preppy," led mostly by Gen Alpha over the last year, refers to bright clothing, lots of pink, and specific accessories like ribbons, bowties, and Stanley water bottles. The TL:DR history of how preppy has changed over the decadesFor many, "preppy" is closely associated with clothing worn by wealthy people and preparatory school students. Now, the word refers to all things pink and colorful — with yet, another short list of in-vogue brands in association. In a video by the "preppy" Texas boutique @dearhannahprep, three girls described the look as "very girly" and "comfy." Despite their vastly differing personal styles and occupations, they have all been spotted in a pair of Gucci horsebit loafers. In mid-June, coinciding with the menswear shows at Milan Fashion Week, Gucci will stage an exhibition celebrating the legacy of its signature loafer. In 1974, George H. W. REUTERS/Jane RosenbergMay 2 (Reuters) - A friend of E. Jean Carroll on Tuesday backed up the writer’s account of being raped by Donald Trump, testifying during a civil trial that she received a phone call about the alleged attack minutes after it occurred. Birnbach, author of many books including "The Official Preppy Handbook,” said Carroll told her Trump slammed her into the wall, pulled down her tights and “penetrated her with his penis.”“I whispered, E. Jean Carroll arrives for her hearing at federal court during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York, U.S., October 21, 2020. There, he called Carroll's rape claim a "Hoax and a lie" for promoting her memoir, and maintained that she was "not my type!" Carroll first sued Trump for defamation in November 2019, five months after he first denied her rape claim. She has long accused Trump of stalling, and U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan has rejected multiple efforts by Trump to delay Carroll's case. Last year, Trump refused to let his Trump Organization concede wrongdoing in a New York criminal tax fraud case, which ended in a conviction that is being appealed.
